CMU professor Randy Pausch was battling pancreatic cancer. His dream was to practice with the Pitsburgh Steelers. He goes out for a pass with Hines Ward, meets the Rooneys and tours the Super Bowl trophy room with Diane Sawyer.

Randy Pausch encourages us to make the most of our life. His positive outlook in the face of Pancreatic Cancer which was to take his life on July 25, 2008 continues to be an inspiration to many. May it encourage us to make the most of the life and time we’ve been given. Randolph Frederick “Randy” Pausch (October 23, 1960 — July 25, 2008) was an American professor of computer science and human-computer interaction and design at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pausch learned that he had pancreatic cancer in September 2006, and in August 2007 he was given a terminal diagnosis: “3 to 6 months of good health left”. He gave an upbeat lecture entitled “The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams” on September 18, 2007 at Carnegie Mellon…. He then co-authored a book called The Last Lecture on the same theme, which became a New York Times best-seller. Pausch died of complications from pancreatic cancer on July 25, 2008. |

![]() Symptoms, SIgns, and treatment of MY brain cancer tumor. It all started with melanoma on my back, spread to my lungs, now it is in my brain.
John Fourniquet 42 years old, husband, father, and Marine. Recently diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma. Although his prognosis is poor, John and his family are fighters! It is their desire to BEAT this disease. John was originally diagnosed with skin cancer in 2006 while on active duty in the United States Marine Corps. It was believed that the cancer was treated, until October 8, 2010, when John’s family received the devastating news that the cancer had returned. The Melanoma is present in his brain, lung and spine. John under went a costly craniotomy to remove the largest (3.2 cm) tumor from his brain. He is scheduled to receive radiation and chemotherapy in hopes of shrinking the remaining 7 tumors. The melanoma is a pre-existing condition that is not covered by insurance.
